Ceramics Project

For this project the element of art that I stressed was form and texture. It was a bowl that was shaped like a flower and inside there were lines that made a design. the function of my bowl is just for decoration. in order for it to act like a bowl I would have to take out the indentions on the side that made it shape like a flower. I created a design for my bowl by taking a piece of paper and folding it and then I cut slits in it. I learned from this project that if you want your project to look good that you should take your time and not get frustrated when something goes wrong. if I were to do this project again I would choose a different base because the base that I used made my bowl a little lopsided.

Acrylic Landscape Painting

My painting is of a beach with the perspective of looking off of a balcony. My color scheme was analogous, blue, blue violet, violet, red violet. I mixed blue with different amounts of white so I could get the sky and ocean. the sad had a very small amount of purple in it. I mixed white and purple to make the sand. The types of brush strokes were for the ocean and the sand I did diagonal because the ocean was at a diagonal from the perspective I was looking at. For the sky just side to side. I had different value changes in my sky at he top it was light blue and as it got to the horizon line it was slowly changing to a darker shade of blue. To make the white foam I used a sponge to create that kind of look.

Self Portrait Project

I organized this project by I went out side with a partner and we looked for a spot for a good picture. So we found a tree with petals that fell on the ground. I grabbed two handfuls of petals and I threw them in the air and right before they fell she took the picture. Then I uploaded it to the computer and went into Photoshop. In Photoshop I made the picture black and white and changed the value of the pictures. I made a part darker or lighter do it would look better. So for example there was a big light source and in it my hand was there so I made my hand a little darker so it wouldn't disappear.

Perspective (1 Point Letter) Project

I organized this project by determining what three letters I would use. I chose sea because I like the ocean. I drew the letters by drawing a horizon line and in the horizon line I drew a vanishing point. Drawing the letters were a little hard because you had to think where each part of the letter had to go back to the vanishing point. So then after I drew the letters I had to decide what I would draw in or around them. I chose to draw in the letters. I left a lot of space outside of the letters. Inside the letters I drew a palm tree, sand, and the ocean. The letters had much form.

Pastel Still Life Project

I planned my composition by putting different candy in different places on the table. There were Reese's and Sweet Tarts on the bottom. On top of them was a pack of Skittles. Also a few Sweet Tarts on the table loose. A thumbnail sketch is a small sketch of what your original project was. The viewfinder helped me so I could determine how I was going to draw the candy, like what prospective. I made the candy three demonical by adding shadows underneath the candy. I created a light source by how my shadows were going. The light source was coming from the top right.
